Suara, meaning 'sound' and Anak, meaning children (both Indonesian words), forms the heart of my dedicated artistic project centered around children and young individuals. This endeavor, particularly aimed at those from BIPOC and marginalized communities, encompasses a diverse range of workshops intertwined with the realm of sound and visuals – spanning from the self made musical instruments, immersive audio-visual experiences, until extended and longer workshop series that culminate in captivating performances and theater productions. Guided by the socially engaged art approach, I strive for participatory creation, fostering a vibrant connection between the project and its participants. Through this artistic journey, I harness the potency of sound as both a medium and a tool, igniting the artistic and imaginative prowess within the children. Beyond artistic exploration, this project also seeks to nurture empathy among the children, facilitating a profound understanding of contemporary societal and environmental issues.

Following the conclusion of GAUNG, an opportunity emerged from Ballhaus Naunynstrasse Akademie der Autodidakten, inviting the initiation of my directorial debut. This venture revolves around a concept I personally proposed, titled "Scarcity," set to premiere in 2023. The heart of this project, Scar-City, is an exploration led by a cohort of adept participants, delving into intricate themes encompassing affluence, compassion, recovery, and personal empowerment. The central focus lies on the intricate interplay between scarcity and its potential to fuel dominance.
The production actively challenges the conventional notion of limitless consumption, meticulously dissecting the boundary between necessities and aspirations, all while acknowledging the limitations of available resources. Employing an array of mediums including live performance, visual elements, and auditory components, the narrative that emerges is both engaging and poignant. Its core addresses prevailing social injustices and the enduring marks left on our society, particularly those stemming from the selective prioritization of certain segments' requisites.
The project's mission is to kindle empathy and instigate the healing process, underscoring the strength inherent in unity and the profound impact of individual expression as catalysts for constructive change. Through a collective effort, these essential inquiries are confronted: How can we effectively address these scars, and how do we nurture them toward recovery? The artistic odyssey embarked upon culminates in a mesmerizing depiction, capturing both personal and collective contentment. This illumination accentuates the crucial significance of tending to societal wounds, while actively steering toward a more compassionate and equitable world.
In its essence, Scar-City is a narrative steeped in optimism and metamorphosis, showcasing the influential potential of art to provoke introspection and galvanize societal advancement.
