SAYARIEL is the latest musical persona of Ariel William Orah, a multidisciplinary artist and community catalyst focused on socially engaged art practice. While he has spent years fostering collaborative platforms—most notably Soydivision, which he founded in 2017—Sayariel shifts towards a solo vision merging pop elements with artistic research. His sonic explorations span experimental/electroacoustic music with Ravenative, Grau&, and Böseblick Ensemble, as well as fronting Bandung’s Vincent Vega (progressive/math rock).
The upcoming EP, Trustpiction, is shaped by his 13 years in Germany and role as a parent, navigating diasporic identity turbulence into its analog-digital-traditional interplay. The analog reflects roots, the digital mirrors migration, and the traditional preserves memory. Sonically, it weaves Sundanese kendang polyrhythms and tonality, krautrock-ish drum machines, and shoegaze textures, bridging past and future through sound and lived experience.
